Your supply chain is a network of organizations that collectively participate in all of the steps necessary to manufacture, distribute, and sell products. Now, more than ever, companies are investing into their supply chain capabilities to create a competitive advantage.
Examples:
Whether you need a complete strategy overhaul or help with a specific project, we offer a breadth of solutions that help drive clarity, confidence, and focus towards improving your supply chain.
Strategy. What must be accomplished through your supply chain and how are you going to achieve it? Some organizations desire to improve service levels and expand capabilities. Others want to reduce costs and complexities. Each organization faces a unique set of circumstances that can influence their strategy. What are your customer's expectations? What's the competitive landscape? Are you focused on market share? Profitability? Answers to questions like these help us define how your supply chain must change in both the short- and long-term.
Network Design. What does your supply chain look like? How does it function in support of your strategy? Some organizations rely on contract manufacturers and 3PL logistics providers. Others engineer, manufacture, and distribute their entire catalog in-house. Switching gears, how much planned capacity does your network provide? At what service levels? What are the associated landed costs? Answers to questions like these help us understand how to maximize each node in your network to achieve your desired service levels at the lowest cost.
Manufacturing & Distribution '4-Wall Operations.' Building a great 4-wall operation (layout, line design, storage, SOPs, etc.) is the first step towards building a great network because it serves as a proving ground for what is possible everywhere else. Since this is the 'meat and potatoes' of most supply chain restructuring projects, we have dozens of modules we can draw on including (but not limited to) Facility Layout & Flow, Line Design, Inventory Management, 5S / Visual Factory, Site Organization Design, Quality Systems / SQC, etc. (click here to download our complete list)
Operating Model. From corporate down to each site in your network, your supply chain organization should function like a well-oiled machine. If your business processes are well defined, but your organization is failing to deliver, it is likely due to a poorly defined and implemented operating model. There are six components to an operating model all of which must be well defined and fully integrated (learn more).
Strategic Third Parties. Your organization’s external partnerships can be a significant contributor to your supply chain capabilities. These relationships might be serving you. They might be holding you back. That is why we evaluate third-party performance and contracts to see which direction these relationships are headed. After establishing a fact base, we can tailor a partner program to improve these relationships including monthly scorecards, business review processes (ABR/QBR), and joint continuous improvement programs.
